Julie had the honor of speaking with a contingent of young DPS leaders of color, from the Student Board of Education (SBOE) and Young African American and Latinx Leaders (YAALL) all-candidate forum. Our students care, they are engaged, and they want to learn more about people vying to be in a position to make decisions about their future.
There were many profound questions, from how to retain teachers of color and even whether I think multicultural education is important. I even got to share my love for the Montessori way!
